The Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Chaipattana Foundation and the Shell Company of Thailand Limited
On 18 April, 2012, Mr Sumet Tantivejkul, Secretary-General of the Chaipattana Foundation, together with Ms Pissawan Achanapornkul, Country Chairperson of the Shell Company of Thailand Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to commence the collaborative project on flood rehabilitation, focusing on mechanical and maintenance training for affected schools and communities.
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn authorized the Chaipattana Foundation to collaborate with the Shell Company of Thailand Limited to implement the project which will be supported by the total funding of 1 million US dollars from the Shell Company of Thailand Limited. It will cover the purchase of tools and equipment used for farming and plantation to reestablish household incomes, and capacity building and training programs for selected communities and schools affected by last year’s flooding to rebuild farming productivity.
