MOU Signing Ceremony for an Academic Collaboration between Chaipattana Foundation and Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry (GIG), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)
On July 1, 2014, Mr. Sumet Tantivejkul, Secretary-General of the Chaipattana Foundation, together with Professor Dr. Kasem Chankao, Chaipattana Foundation’s environment specialist and Director of the Royally-initiated Leam Phak Bia Environment Research and Development Center (LERD), presided over the MOU signing ceremony for an academic collaboration between Chaipattana Foundation and Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry (GIG), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) at Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Guangzhou, People’s Republic of China.
Collaboration between the Chaipattana Foundation and GIG under the MOU focuses on knowledge exchange and technology transfers. In this regard, planned activities include technical training on environmental quality analysis for Chaipattana Foundation staff and knowledge exchange on Chaipattana Foundation’s wetland wastewater treatment technology, to be applied in GIG’s pilot project in the Mekong River area. Moreover, the two institutions will share technical data with each other for the purpose of academic advancement in the area of environmental quality improvement.
