On 26 August 2023, Mr. Sumet Tantivejkul, Secretary-General of the Chaipattana Foundation, led the participants from the 1st Chaipattana Foundation’s Leadership Programme for Sustainable Development to visit the Late Princess Mother Garden Project in Sampraya Sub-district, Cha-am District, Phetchaburi Province.
The Late Princess Mother’s Garden was established according to His Late Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great’s initiative, aiming to be an agricultural learning center in the form of a living natural museum. This project emphasizes simple methods of sustainable agricultural practices for example New Theory, agroforestry, etc. The Project promotes natural methods of agriculture by not using chemical substances. There is also the plantation of rare plant species, and medicinal plants for processing into various products. The Project has strictly adhered to His Late Majesty’s initiative as a roadmap to operate and develop the project. From arid and adversely deteriorated condition of land, this area has finally been transformed to be the abundant and fertile area.
