Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Research and Development
On 23 July 2024, Mr. Sumet Tantivejkul, Member and Secretary-General of the Chaipattana Foundation, Mr. Worawut Kulkaew, Secretary-General of the Dental Innovation Foundation Under the Royal Patronage and Mrs. Suporn Trinarin, Secretary-General of the Royal Development Projects Board (ORDPB) signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in research and development. The ceremony was organised at Office of the Royal Development Projects Board (ORDPB). There are 3 main objectives of the collaboration;
- Conduct research and development to create innovative health products from herbal plants for the benefit of promoting, preventing, treating, and rehabilitating dental issues among the population.
- Create opportunities and options for the public to benefit from the research and development of health products from herbal plants in the areas related to the royal initiative on dentistry, which can be produced domestically under international standards.
- Support the raw materials of herbal plants in the areas of the royal initiative project to be used in the production and sale of health products.
The Project of the Chaipattana Foundation has cultivated variety of crops which are Indian gooseberry, Bengal Currant, sesbania, and grains. This signing ceremony will lead to the further advancement of the royal initiatives of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, aiming to benefit a wider community. It will also provide an opportunity to create new options for the development of professions for farmers and individuals interested in cultivating vetiver grass and herbal plants as raw materials for producing pharmaceuticals.
