HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Cultivates Rice at Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy
On August 1, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn went to Nakhon Nayok province to cultivate rice at the paddy demonstration plot in the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy under the Royally-initiated Paddy Farming on Vacant Land Project.
Over the past year, the Project has produced more than 2,000 kilograms of various global-standard rice species by experimenting with different planting techniques. Her Royal Highness suggested that the produce be distributed to the local communities.
The project also promotes post-harvest cultivation of corns and mung beans to improve the soil conditions. Other activities carried out by the project include vegetable gardening, fish farming, and organic rice cultivation.
