HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Inspects the Operation of the Chaipattana Foundation's Projects in Chiang Rai Province
On February 11, 2014, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn made a royal visit to inspect the Black Bengal Goat Livestock Project in a designated ground of the Doi Tung Development Project in Mae Sai district of Chiang Rai province. The project is a collaboration between the Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage and the Chaipattana Foundation, aiming at raising and breeding Black Bengal goats to be distributed to farmers.
Her Royal Highness then visited community vegetable selection center in Ban Dai sub-district. The center provides knowledge for farmers about organic vegetable growing along with selection and packaging methods.
Later, Her Royal Highness traveled to the Chakrabandh Pensiri Plant Development Center which was established in accordance with Her Royal Highness’ initiative to produce and distribute plant seeds for disaster-affected people.
In the afternoon, Her Royal Highness Princess visited the home and garden of Mrs. Jongwong Jantakhat, who is a participant in the ‘Friends for Friends’ project by Chakrabandh Pensiri Plant Development Center, and Jinnaluck Mulberry Paper Workshop. The Chaipattana Foundation, in collaboration with Jinnaluck Mulberry Paper Workshop, initiated a collaborative vetiver paper development project to utilize harvested vetiver grass grown in the Tea Oil Camellia and Plant Oils Development Center for product development.
Lastly, Her Royal Highness traveled to the Tea Oil Camellia and Plant Oils Development Center to inspect the project’s operation. Last year, the Center produced three main products namely tea oil, Niger seed oil, and Moringa seed oil. This year, the Center will begin production of Perilla seed oil.
On February, 13, 2014 Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited the Chaipattana Foundation's Tea Oil Study and Development Project in Mae Fa Luang district of Chiang Rai province to inspect its progress. Apart from producing consumable tea oil and other products, the project was also tasked by Her Royal Highness to help raise awareness on the danger of decadent forests and work with the local community to conserve nearby forests.
