Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Observes the Activity of Rice Harvesting at Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy in Nakhon Nayok Province
On 11 November 2021, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn traveled to observe the rice harvesting at agricultural demonstration plot of Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy in Nakhon Nayok Province.
The rice harvested this time is the non-photoperiod-sensitive Gor Kor 87 (RD87) rice. The harvesting period is 114-123 days, with its height about 125 centimetres and productivity of 734 kilograms/rai. This type of rice can provide the highest yield at 1,053 kilogram/rai. The Gor Kor 87 (RD87) rice is suitable to grow in irrigation areas of central and lower northern regions of Thailand.
On this occasion, Her Royal Highness observed the after-rice crops cultivation by means of drone instead of manpower. With this method, it can save cultivating time and increase the efficiency.
