Delegates of Thai Rath newspaper and the Royal Initiative Discovery Institute Visited the Kasornkasiwit School, Srakaew Province

On 5 May, 2011, Mr. Lalit Thanomsingh, Assistant to the Secretary-General of the Chaipattana Foundation, together with M.R. Pensiri Chakrabhandhu, Director of Special Task Unit of the Chaipattana Foundation, and Mrs. Onanan Woothisen, Director of Information Department of the Chaipattana Foundation, accompanied the delegation of Thai Rath Newspaper Executives and the Royal Initiative Discovery Institute to visit the Kasornkasiwit School (The Water Buffalo and Agricultural School).

The School was founded to train buffaloes for agricultural skills, particularly in rice field plowing. The training also extends to the buffalo owners for agricultural purposes, enabling them to utilize the animals effectively.  The Kasornkasiwit School also serves general public as a learning center for traditional and subsistence living based on His Majesty the King’s Sufficiency Economy Philosophy.

On this occasion, the multimedia presentation on the School’s overview was given to the delegates, who later proceeded to observe the actual premises and activities, including clay houses, the Kasornkasiwit Farmers Project, primary and secondary rice paddy plowing, and the community products at the “Kwai Khanong” (Energetic Buffalos) Coffee Shop.
