Chanting Ceremony in Honor of the Buddha’s Relics at Sanam Luang
On 21 January 2025, Mr. Sumet Tantivejkul, Member and Secretary-General of the Chaipattana Foundation, presided as the lay chairman in the Buddhist chanting ceremony dedicated to the Buddha’s Relics at Sanam Luang Ceremonial Grounds. This ceremony was conducted in accordance with an invitation extended by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office, to Rama IX Golden Jubilee Temple of the Chaipattana Foundation.
The sacred Buddha’s Relics (Phra Kheaow Kaew – the Sacred Tooth Relic) were brought from the People’s Republic of China and temporarily enshrined at Sanam Luang from 4 December 2024, to 14 February 2025. This event was organized in honor of His Majesty the King’s 72nd Birthday Anniversary (Sixth Cycle) on 28 July 2024, and to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China in 2025.
