On January 16, 2014, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn traveled to a Border Patrol Police School in Khuan Kalong district of Satun province, where the Chaipattana Foundation under the assistance of the Royal Irrigation Department constructed water levee around the school’s area to prevent damages from flood.

Her Royal Highness then traveled to PSU Wittayanusorn School in Hat Yai district of Songkhla province and granted an audience to new and current Chaipattana Foundation’s royal scholarship students, who were part of the Public Health Scholarship Pilot Project for students in Phang Nga province. On this occasion, Her Royal Highness inspected the progress of the Academic Enhancement Collaborative Project between Chaipattana Foundation, Prince of Songkla University (PSU), and PSU Wittayanusorn School. The project aims to enhance academic potential of students from three pilot schools namely Kuraburi Chaipattana Pittayakom in Phang Nga province, Udomsart Withaya School in Yala province, and Srifarida Baru Witya School in Yala province.

Later, Her Royal Highness went to the 60th Anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne International Convention Center, Prince of Songkla University, to attend an exhibition on the work of Bulon Island Research and Development Project in Satun Province. In this regard, notable progresses included dike construction on Bulon Le Island, coral reef and mangrove forest conservation and restoration training for locals, track paving on Bulon Le and Bulon Don Island, conservation of local language and music, local first aid group, telemedicine development, and  educational enhancement for local communities on sustainable vocational practices.
