Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Presides Over the Opening of “2024 Yaowarat Chinese New Year Festival”

On 10 February 2024, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the opening ceremony of “2024 Yaowarat Chinese New Year Festival” under the concept “Prosperity and Wealth in the Year of Dragon”. This event was held at the Sixth Cycle Birthday Royal Jubilee Gate on Yaowarat Road, Bangkok.

Her Royal Highness also visited PatPat Shop of the Chaipattana Foundation which showcased the products from development projects of the Chaipattana Foundation. Mrs. Bhakamol Rattaseri, Member and Deputy Treasurer of the Chaipattana Foundation, was present to receive Her Royal Highness. On this occasion, Her Royal Highness graciously prepared noodle dish for golden dragon year by using “PatPat Camellia Oleifera Seed Oil” as an ingredient.

Her Royal Highness once granted an initiation to the Chaipattana Foundation to collaborate with the Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage to receive tea oil plant from the People's Republic of China to cultivate in highland of Chiang Rai Province. The Thai populace, therefore, have high-quality oil with many nutritional advantages for consumption, and meanwhile this contributes to the restoration of fertility in degraded forest. Simultaneously, these initiatives foster economic opportunities for local communities, creating additional income, while helping create the sense of awareness to take care of the forest in a sustainable manner.

The “2024 Yaowarat Chinese New Year Festival” was organized during 10-11 February 2024 from 12.00 pm to midnight, at Yaowarat Road, Samphanthawong District, Bangkok.
