Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Observes the Activity of Rice Harvesting at Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy in Nakhon Nayok Province

On 15 November 2024, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn traveled to observe the rice harvesting at agricultural demonstration plot of Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy in Nakhon Nayok Province.

The rice harvested this time is the non-photoperiod-sensitive RD97 rice. It is soft in texture, fragrant, and photoperiod-insensitive, making it suitable for cultivation in both the main and off-season. It has a short harvesting period of approximately 106 days when grown through the wet direct seeding method, with the yield around 737 kilograms/rai. Additionally, it is relatively resistant to blast disease.

On this occasion, Her Royal Highness also attended the summary briefing of the past year's operational results from various organizations involved in activities within the area of Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy. These included the Pathum Thani Rice Research Center, Nakhon Nayok Provincial Agricultural Office, Royal Irrigation Department, Department of Agriculture, Rice Department, Land Development Department, Department of Fisheries, as well as the Infantry Battalion and the Royal Initiative Project Club of Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy.
