Member and Secretary-General of the Chaipattana Foundation Observes the Operation Progress of Baan Rong Wua Cooperative Agriculture Project and Jing Jai Farmers Market

On 28 May 2023, Mr. Sumet Tantivejkul, Member and Secretary-General of the Chaipattana Foundation and Mrs. Bhakamol Rattaseri,  Member and Deputy Treasurer of the Chaipattana Foundation, travelled to observe the operation progress of Baan Rong Wua Cooperative Agriculture Project located in the land of the Chaipattana Foundation, in Mae Soi Sub-district, Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai Province. The Project focuses on cultivating toxic-free longan and transferring the technologies of cultivation to farmers in community while promoting the production of AAA high-quality longan (no more than 65 fruits per kilogram) and AA (no more than 70 fruits per kilogram). In this way, the farmers can gain more income compared to the traditional cultivation methods.

In the same day, the group also visited Jing Jai Farmers Market Chiang Mai. This project is a collaboration between Chiang Mai Province and the Central Group, aiming at promoting the local products, including organic agricultural products at affordable prices. The farmers in Chiang Mai and nearby areas will have an opportunity to directly sell their chemical-free fruits and vegetables to consumers.
