Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Observes Operational Progress of the Chaipattana’s Projects in Chiang Rai Province
On 25 February 2020, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, along with Diplomatic Corps and Spouses as well as Representatives from International Organization, observed operational progress of the Chaipattana’s Projects.
At 8.10 am, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn traveled to follow up on the activities of the Chaipattana Foundation’s Bengal Goat Domestication Project in Chiang Rai Province. Her Royal Highness gave a command to Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage and the Chaipattana Foundation to breed Black Bengal goats and maintain the pure breed Bengal goats. Moreover, Her Royal Highness suggested conducting researches and experiments on how to produce hybrid local black Bengal goats and distribute them to local people. In this way, the local people are able to have good quality goats which can adjust well to the environment and produce good meat and milk.
At 9.10 am, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn proceeded to “Safe Vegetable Cultivation Project According to GAP at Ban San Thang Luang, Chan Chawa Sub-district, Mae Chan District, Chiang Rai Province. This village received a support from Prince Chakraband Pensiri Center for Plant Development on how to grow safe vegetables for consumption and the surplus thereof can be sold for additional income. In the year 2019, this village could produce 34 types of fresh vegetables, with the total weight of 6,110 kilograms. The revenue from selling vegetable was 146,130 Baht, with the average of 16,236 Baht/ household.
At 10.45 am, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn proceeded to Prince Chakraband Pensiri Center for Plant Development, Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province. This project’s key objective is to produce quality vegetable seeds to be preserved and distributed to people who suffer from natural disasters. The Project also works closely with community. There are many group formations aiming for produce royally-granted seeds, for example, “Friends for Friends”, Homegrown Vegetables Project, Share the Love, Share the Veggies and “Safe Vegetables Production under the GAP standard”.
At 3.40 pm, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn proceeded to Tea Oil Plant and Other Oil Crops Research and Development Center, Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province. Her Royal Highness granted an initiative to establish this project with an objective to be the place where researches and development on tea oil plant and other oil crops can be conducted. Apart from high quality tea seed oil for consumption, this project also produces a variety of products such as cosmetic and skin care products. In this occasion, Her Royal Highness graciously prepared “Crispy Golden Cup” menu by using tea seed oil. This menu is a royally-granted menu of 2020 to Maletcha Restaurant.
