Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Observes the Operation Progress of Thaharn Phandee Project (Good Farmer Soldiers) in Khon Kaen Province
On 11 June 2021, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn observed the operation progress of Thaharn Phandee Project (Good Farmer Soldiers) at Prem Tinsulanonda 3rd Cavalry Fort and 23rd Military Circle, Sri Patcharin Camp. Khon Kaen Province.
The 3rd Cavalry Fort and 23rd Military Circle have joined Thaharn Phandee Project (Good Farmer Soldiers) in order to respond to the royal initiatives. The areas in these military camps were used for royally-granted seeds cultivation and animal breeds production for distributing to people suffering from natural disaster. This Project helps achieve the national food safety and security. Before conducting any agricultural practices, the military officers were trained at Prince Chakraband Pensiri Center for Plant Development of the Chaipattana Foundation in Chiang Rai Province. The results of the Project were thereafter extended to the community in the vicinity.
At the 3rd Cavalry Fort, the military officers have conducted many activities. The Project “Ban Nee Mee Rak Plook Pak Kin Aeng” (grow vegetable for your own consumption) aims to grow safe vegetables for consumption in the Military Camp, and the surplus will be sold to people in the vicinity at low prices. In addition, the division has also implemented the Project "Tang Nee Mee Phol Poo Kon Rak Kan” (Share the Love, Share the Veggies) by growing the royally-granted seedlings received from the Chaipattana Foundation. At present, the 3rd Cavalry Fort has set up 3 centers of “Friends for Friends” in the northern part of northeast, i.e., 1. royally-granted poultry production center "Friends for Friends" for raising Bang Pakong egg ducks and Chee chicken, the native chicken of Khon Kaen Province, 2. royally-granted freshwater fish breeding center "Friends for Friends" for raising breeders of Chitralada tilapia and reserve them for distribution to people along the borders and in remote areas, for being a source of protein for the soldiers, and for general public to feed, and 3. royally-granted seeds production center "Friends for friends".
After that, Her Royal Highness proceeded to the 23rd Military Circle, Sri Patcharin Camp, and grew Mahachanok mango trees. Her Royal Highness also observed the operation of Thaharn Phandee Project, the production of biopesticides and biofertilizers, Pu Na Pa Ploen Project (crab farming), Ped Sabai Jai Kai Sabai Dee (duck and chicken farming), the cultivation plots of angle luffa and Chaopraya eggplant, from which the seeds shall be sent to the seeds production center “Friends for Friends” at the Prem Tinsulanonda 3rd Cavalry Fort. On this occasion, Her Royal Highness graciously had conversation with the retired military officers, people who joined The Project “Ban Nee Mee Rak Plook Pak Kin Aeng” (grow vegetable for your own consumption) and working group at Prem Tinsulanonda 3rd Cavalry Fort and 23rd Military Circle.
