Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Presides over the Chaipattana Foundation’s Annual Committee Meeting Session 1/2021
On 29 December 2021, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the Chaipattana Foundation’s Annual Committee Meeting Session 1/2021.
On this occasion, Her Royal Highness observed the products made from reed mat. These products were developed by the cooperation of the Chaipattana Foundation, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Tango Leather Co., Ltd., Practika Co., Ltd., and O.D.A Studio. With the support from them, the farmer group in Surin Province can develop the modern design of reed mat while maintaining the original local characteristics. Besides, the local people gain additional income in a sustainable manner. On that day, Mr. Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi, President and CEO of Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, presented the marble statue of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great to Her Royal Highness.
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously granted a permission to the Chaipattana Foundation to allocate some of the fund from “Chaipattana Covid-19 Aid Fund (and Other Pandemics)” to purchase medical equipment and supplies to 360 hospitals nationwide (from 2020 to 2021). This includes the purchase of True Negative Pressure Chamber to 23 hospitals nationwide and the transformation of 140 regular wards into Semi ICU in 10 hospitals, the purchase of 663 units of High-flow Oxygen to 109 hospitals, the purchase of 100 units of PAPR, etc.
In the year 2021, 12 plots of land with the total area of 64 rai (25.6 acres) in 58 provinces were donated to the Chaipattana Foundation. The donated land will be further developed according to the royal initiative of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to benefit the people as a whole in wide ranges of development, e.g., agriculture, society, environment, renewable energy, etc. At present, there are 78 development projects of the Chaipattana Foundation; 36 projects in central and eastern Thailand, 13 projects in north-eastern Thailand, 22 projects in northern Thailand and 7 projects in southern Thailand.
