Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Observes the Operation of “Thaharn Phandee Project (Good Farmer Soldiers)” in Lopburi Province

On 26 January 2022, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn  observed the operation of “Thaharn Phandee Project (Good Farmer Soldiers)” at Ananda Mahidol Hospital and Bhumibol Camp in Lopburi Province.

Good Farmer Soldiers Project at Ananda Mahidol Hospital was set up in 2019. Since then, the Project has developed 2 plots of vacant land covering an area of 2 rai (0.8 acre) and 6 rai (2.4 acres), respectively, which are adjacent to the Ambulance Brigade Unit. The Project can produce more than 20 varieties of vegetable crops, with the quantity of 36,000 kilograms. The agricultural produces are used for consumption in military unit and hospital and the surplus will be sold to the communities in low price. The income from the produce selling will be used to develop military unit. In addition, the Project also grows “radish” for use as an ingredient to make “Sa Pathum Pickled Vegetables” for the Thai Red Cross Society. 

Good Farmer Soldiers Project at Bhumibol Military Camp covers an area of 35 rai (14 acres) in Battalion Service Division Artillery Center. There are many activities conducted at the Military Camp, for example, safe vegetable cultivation, fish raising , etc. Moreover, the Project initiated the “buffalo therapy” with the collaboration between the Health Security Fund, Khao Phra Ngam Sub-district, Ananda Mahidol Hospital, and Lopburi Panyanukul School, with an objective to develop social and life skills in children with autism. The Project has also joined in “Chumchon Bergbarn Aharn Plod Pai (Happy Community, Healthy Food)” by encouraging people to grow safe vegetables including animal raising and fishery. The produces from these activities will be used as ingredients in cooking for students. The Project’s result will be thereafter extended to the community in vicinity.
