Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn travels to observe the operation of Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) at Krit Siwara Military Camp in Sakon Nakhon Province
On 6 May 2022, at 13.20, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn traveled to observe the operation of Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) at Krit Siwara Military Camp in Sakon Nakhon Province.
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn granted a permission to the Prince Chakraband Pensiri Center for Plant Development of the Chaipattana Foundation to cooperate with the Royal Thai Army in setting up the Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) in 2016 with an objective to provide agricultural knowledge like how to grow safe vegetables. In 2020, Her Royal Highness gave a permission to 29th Infantry Regiment and 3rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Brigade to implement the Project at Krit Siwara Military Camp.
The Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) Krit Siwara Military Camp in Sakon Nakhon Province was set up with an aim to be a study center for military personnel and the locals in the vicinity to learn how to grow safe vegetables for consumption, and to be a place to produce 12 kinds of royally-granted vegetable seeds from Prince Chakraband Pensiri Center for Plant Development, as well as 10 kinds of local vegetable seeds. The 197 fruit trees are grown at the Project, 4 of which namely Nam Dok Mai Mango No. 4, Mahachanok Mango, Phet Pak Chong Custard Apple, Phaen Phichit Lime are royally granted fruits, and 2 of which are local fruits namely Kimju guava, and tamarind. In addition, Hang Lai, Chinese morning glory and sweet potato are also planted in the fruit tree area.
The Project also raises Channa frogs, white tailed chickens, Pradu black tailed chickens, Bang Pakong layer ducks, KabinburiMandarin ducks, and Chitralada Nile Tilapia fish. The Project has received theanimal’s breeders from Agricultural Extension Cooperative Unit 2, Military Development Office, and Sakon Nakhon Inland Fisheries Research and Development Center. In addition, the Project also grows Muang Sakon duckweed and red duckweed in order to reduce the animal feed cost. On this occasion, Her Royal Highness graciously presented 20 pairs of Thung Kula frog breeders and 4,900 Chitralada Nile Tilapia fish to the representatives of the Project.
After that, Her Royal Highness also proceeded to Ban Suan Chon Ya of Colonel Chonlob Chamnanphon, Deputy Chief of the 29th Army Region, located at Ban Khok Sawang, That Na Weng Subdistrict, Mueang Sakon Nakhon District, Sakon Nakhon Province. By this, the Colonel Chonrob Chamnanphon, who is interested in agriculture, used to be responsible for supervising and directing the Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) of the 3rd Infantry Regiment and the Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) of the 29th Army District. Once he had completed the military service, he brought back the knowledge and experience gained from the Project to do his own gardening with an aim to set up a learning center for students and people in the vicinity.
