Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Travels to Observe the Operation of Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) in Nakhon Nayok Province

On 6 July 2022, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn traveled to observe the operation of Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) at Vet Army School, Animal Department of the Royal Thai Army, Nakhon Nayok Province.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously granted a permission to Vet Army School, Animal Department of the Royal Thai Army, to join in Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) with the objective to set up as a learning center for conducting safe vegetable cultivation for army sergeants at Vet Army School including military officers. The Project has been in operation since April 2020.

The Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) at Vet Army School, Animal Department of the Royal Thai Army, covers an area of 35 rai (14 acres). The area at the Project is divided into 5 parts which are safe vegetable plot, seed preparation plot, royally-granted goat raising experimentation center, “Friends for Friends” royally-granted freshwater fish production center in eastern area, and New Theory farming plot with Bang Pakong duck raising.

The Project has implemented the concept of “Learning by Doing” in the activities of these 5 areas. After finishing military mission, the army sergeants of Vet Army School and military officers will be able to bring back and extend the knowledge derived from this project to their own communities.
