At present, there are 11 groups of communities participating in 105 royally-granted jasmine rice in 3 provinces, i.e. Surin Province, Buriram Province and Sisaket Province. The area of 2 rai (0.8 acres) was developed to be cultivating plots. At the beginning, the Project received the royally-granted vegetable and fruit seeds including animal breeds to grow and raise at the Project. At present, the 26th Army Region has expanded the Project area to 28 rai (11.2 acres). There are many activities at the Project’s site, such as growing safe vegetables, herbs, etc., while the Project’s results of Thaharn Phandee “Chumchon Bergbarn Aharn Plod Pai” (Happy Community, Healthy Food) have been extended to communities nearby.
After that, Her Royal Highness also opened Royally-granted Freshwater Fish Breeding Center “Friends for Friends” in the lower northeastern part. The Battalion in Buriram Province received 330 Chitralada nile tilapia, and later propagated 580,586 fish to the locals. The Project has also extended its operation to other communities nearby under the project named “Ban Nee Mee Rak Plook Pak Kin Aeng” (grow vegetable for your own consumption) and “Chumchon Bergbarn Aharn Plod Pai” (Happy Community, Healthy Food). Above all, the Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) has created good connection between military personnel and local people in a sustainable manner.
