Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Observes the Operation Progress in Surin Province
On 23 August 2022, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn observed the operation progress of the Royally-granted Jasmine Rice 105 Production Project “Friends for Friends” of Prince Chakraband Pensiri Center for Plant Development and Community Vocational Promotion under the Chaipattana Foundation Network.
On this occasion, Her Royal Highness also observed the activities of the Project "Tang Nee Mee Phol Poo Kon Rak Kan” (Share the Love, Share the Veggies) which were conducted along both sides of village’s roadway in Sikhoraphum District, Surin Province. The Project has received the royally-granted branches of fruit trees for further cultivation. The villagers, therefore, help taking care of these trees, while the agricultural products will be shared within the community and also distributed to the passerby.
Later, Her Royal Highness proceeded to visit the group of Royally-granted Jasmine Rice 105 Production Project “Friends for Friends” at Rim Nong Harn Community, Sikhoraphum District, Surin Province and observed the products made from reed mat. The Chaipattana Foundation has supported the farmer group by providing knowledge and know-how in developing the products in order to increase the product’s value according to Her Royal Highness’s initiation.
The PatPat of the Chaipattana Foundation, in cooperation with Textile Design, Faculty of Architecture, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, has been developing the reed mat products with the objective to create the value of handicraft products. Thanks to the support of the Central Group Company Limited, Tango Leather Co., Ltd., Practika Co., Ltd., and Mobella Galleria Company Limited in developing, dyeing, decorating and designing, the reed mat handicraft products can successfully be added with more value while the original folk wisdom and tradition can still be maintained.
Later, Her Royal Highness proceeded to the Royally-granted Jasmine Rice 105 Production Project “Friends for Friends” at Baan Nong Khaen, Nong Phai Lom Sub-district, Samrong Thap District, Surin Province to observe the reed mat weaving group under the support of the Chaipattana Foundation. On this occasion, Her Royal Highness graciously had a conversation with the group and gave encouragement to the people who participated in the 105 jasmine rice production group “Friends for Friends” at Baan Nong Khaen, Nong Phai Lom Sub-district, Samrong Thap District.
Her Royal Highness also observed the operation of the Royally-granted Jasmine Rice 105 Production Project “Friends for Friends” of Prince Chakraband Pensiri Center for Plant Development of the Chaipattana Foundation. In 2021, the Prince Chakraband Pensiri Center for Plant Development produced 1395.915 tons of 105 jasmine rice seeds, and distributed to 12077 households affected from natural disasters, covering an area of 93,082 rai (37,232 acres). On this occasion, Her Royal Highness graciously had a conversation with the jasmine rice 105 production group.
By this, Her Royal Highness graciously had conversation with people who participated in the Project and encouraged them to have strong determination, patience and perseverance in producing good quality of rice. Her Royal Highness also granted a royal command to the Chaipattana Foundation to purchase the rice which is not qualified as to the standard of the royally-granted rice from the local to be further processed to rice and sold under the brand “Chan Ka Pak”.
