Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Observes the Operation Progress of Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) in Surin Province
On 24 August 2022, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn observed the operation progress of Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) at Fort Weerawatyothin and Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) “Chumchon Bergbarn Aharn Plod Pai” (Happy Community, Healthy Food) at Ban Nong Kan Na, Ta Miang Sub-district, Phanom Dong Rak district, Surin Province.
The 6th Infantry Brigade has set up the Royally-granted Freshwater Fish Breeding Center “Friends for Friends” in the lower north eastern area in response to the royal initiative to have varieties of fish for consumption, propagation and distribution for additional household income. On this occasion, Her Royal Highness also opened the Center in the southeastern region, 3rd Infantry Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, Surin Province.
After that, Her Royal Highness also observed vegetable plot and witnessed extended result of the Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) “Chumchon Bergbarn Aharn Plod Pai” (Happy Community, Healthy Food). The Project organized the training to the locals in the border areas including the surrounding communities on how to conduct good agricultural practices. In this regard, Her Royal Highness graciously had conversation with military personnel who has joined in the Project.
In the afternoon, Her Royal Highness proceeded to Nong Kan Na School, Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province, at Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers), 21st Infantry Battalion, 2nd Special Task Force. The school received the royally-granted vegetable seeds from Her Royal Highness and also organized Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers)’s activities there in order to teach students how to grow safe vegetable. Her Royal Highness also witnessed the students’ activities such as trilingual tour guide, vegetable cultivation by students from kindergarten students to Grade 3 students, etc.
Later, Her Royal Highness proceeded to Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) Chumchon Bergbarn Aharn Plod Pai” (Happy Community, Healthy Food), at Ta Miang Sub-district, Phanom Dong Rak district, Surin Province. This Project is an extension work of Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) at Suranaree Forces. In 2019, the 4th Infantry Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment did extend the Project’s result to 4 border villages, i.e. Ban Nong Khan Na, Ban Non Mayang, Ban Nong Khan Na Samakkhi and Baan Kaset Somboon in Ta Miang Sub-district, Phanom Dong Rak district, Surin Province.
The 4th Infantry Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment distributed the royally-granted vegetable seeds to 4 villages for further grown at their villages under the Project named “Baan Nee Mee Rak Plook Pak Kin Aeng” (Grow the Veggies in the Home of Love). The military personnel have been trained from Prince Chakraband Pensiri Center for Plant Development of the Chaipattana Foundation on how to grow safe vegetable. The results, thereafter, extended to the nearby communities and schools under the name Chumchon Bergbarn Aharn Plod Pai” (Happy Community, Healthy Food).
On this occasion, Her Royal Highness also visited the villager’s house and observed the operation of Prasat Ta Muen Organic Agriculture Community Enterprise Group. The locals from Ban Nong Khanna and Ban Nong Khan Na Samakkhi has gathered for conducting activities for example vegetable cultivation, compost production, frog raising, etc. Her Royal Highness also observed the beef cattle enterprise group at Ban Nong Khanna Village. Before departure, Her Royal Highness graciously gave an encouragement to the villages and military personnel who perform duties along the border.
