Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Presides over the Opening Ceremony of the Seventh International Conference on Vetiver: ICV-7) at Shangri-La Hotel, Chiang Mai Province

On 29 May 2023, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the opening ceremony of the Seventh International Conference on Vetiver: ICV-7) at Shangri-La Hotel, Chiang Mai Province. By this, Mr. Sumet Tantivejkul, Member and Secretary-General of the Chaipattana Foundation and Mrs. Bhakamol Rattaseri, Member and Deputy Treasurer of the Chaipattana Foundation, were present to welcome Her Royal Highness.

The Seventh International Conference on Vetiver: ICV-7 is a collaboration between the Chaipattana Foundation and the Office of the Royal Development Projects Board. The Conference was organized with an objective to promote the royal grace of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great in supporting the development and promotion of the use of vetiver grass in Thailand, which has achieved remarkable success and recognition in the world arena.

In addition, the Chaipattana Foundation, by PatPat Shop, has utilized and showcased the vetiver leaves in various of PatPat handicraft products. Recently, the Sericulture Integrated-Learning Center of the Chaipattana Foundation in Ban Khwao District, Chaiyaphum Province, just showcased the silk pieces dyed from vetiver grass in this Conference. The Center is the first place in Thailand that has used vetiver grass to produce natural dyes successfully.
