Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Travels to Observe the Operations of “Thaharn Phandee Project (Good Farmer Soldiers)” in Tak Province
On 31 January 2024, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn observed the operation of “Thaharn Phandee Project (Good Farmer Soldiers)” at Wachiraprakarn Military Camp in Tak Province.
Thaharn Phandee Project (Good Farmer Soldiers) at Wachiraprakarn Military Camp was set up in September. There are many activities in this Military Camp, for example, safe vegetables cultivation, local and rare herbs production, and royally-granted vegetable seeds production. The seeds are preserved at “Friends for Friends” seeds’ storage in lower northern region at Somdet Phra Ekathotsarot Camp Phitsanulok Province. The seeds are to be distributed to local people affected by natural disasters.
Thaharn Phandee Project (Good Farmer Soldiers) at Wachiraprakarn Military Camp together with the Naresuan Army has carried out Good Farmer Soldiers Project “Chumchon Bergbarn Aharn Plod Pai” (Happy Community, Healthy Food)”. The agricultural produces here are distributed to 20 schools in 7 districts. In addition, the military officers are assigned to provide knowledge to the locals on how to conduct good agricultural practices, animal husbandry, and fish raising. The produces from these activities will go to support the school lunch project. The Project’s results are also extended to the communities nearby. The students at Wiwat Ponlamuang School are encouraged to study and learn how to do livestock farming such as black-tailed Pradu chickens for further breeding.
Later, Her Royal Highness graciously opened the sign of Royally-granted Freshwater Fish Breeding Center “Friends for Friends” in the upper western region. The center is located in Wachiraprakarn Military Camp and it covers an area of 4 rai (1.6 acres). In 2023, the Center produced 1,232,100 Chitralada Strain Nile Tilapia Fish for distributing to people. After that, Her Royal Highness proceeded to observe the operation of Thaharn Phandee Project (Good Farmer Soldiers) at 1st Infantry Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, and bestowed the name of the newborn Black Bengal goat "Nakaraj" to bring good fortune to the project.
On this occasion, Her Royal Highness graciously had a conversation with military personnel and gave them morale support and encouragement to continue performing their duties. Thanks to the royal grace of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Thai people are assured to have food stability.
