Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Travels to Observe the Operation of Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) in Phitsanulok Province
On 13 February 2024, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn traveled to observe the operation of Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers) at Somdet Phra Ekathotsarot Camp, Aranyik Sub-district, Mueang Phitsanulok District, Phitsanulok Province.
Thaharn Phandee Project (The Good Farmer Soldiers), at 3rd Army Area has carried out activities consisting of;
Safe vegetables cultivation: The 23rd Transportation Battalion, 3rd Combat Assistance Command, is carrying out a project to grow organic vegetables in an area of 56 rai (22.4 acres) for sale to communities at reasonable price. Currently, the Project can produce 16,161 kilograms of vegetables.
Herbal Plants Garden Project: The Project has allocated an area of 25 rai (10 acres) to grow herbal plants. This Project serves as a learning center for military personnel and general public. Currently, there are more than 400 rare herbal plants at this Project.
Fruit Trees Production Center “Friends for Friends” in Northern Region: The Center grows 957 mango trees of 38 varieties, and 1,174 trees of 45 varieties have been propagated.
Organic Paddy Field Project: Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously granted a permission to set up this Project with an aim to grow Pathumthani 1 Rice without using chemical substances. The rice seeds are produced by Prince Chakraband Pensiri Center for Plant Development of the Chaipattana Foundation. This Project also serves an a learning hub for those interested in growing organic rice.
Royally-granted Rice Production “Friends for Friends” in Lower Northern Region: The Project was set up according to the royal initiative with an aim to produce and conserve seeds for distributing to people affected from natural disasters, or when Thailand was struck with crisis. Currently, there are 227,023 packets of 10 types vegetable seeds.
Royally-granted Freshwater Fish Production Center "Friends for Friends" in Lower Northern Region: The Center was set up with an aim to produce local freshwater fish that are appropriate for raising in the area. The Center serves as a center for military personnel and public to learn how to raise and propagate freshwater fish for additional income. The Center has produced a total of 7,915,580 fish species since 2018.
Royally-granted Frogs Breeding Center “Friends for Friends”: The frog breeders are from Royally-granted Frogs Breeding Center, 38th Military Circle in Nan Province. There are breedings of Thung Kula Frog from Surin Province, Chan Na Frog, and local frog from Phitsanulok Province. Currently, the Center received 71,900 of royally-granted frogs.
On this occasion, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously opened the sign of Royally-granted Frogs Breeding Center “Friends for Friends” in lower northern region, the Royally-granted Poultry Breeding Center “Friends for Friends” and the Royally-granted Goat Breeding Center “Friends for Friends” in lower northern region through an online platform.
Royally-granted Poultry Breeding Center “Friends for Friends”: The Center has raised and propagated local chicken breed which is white-tailed yellow chicken. Currently, the Center produced 1,590 chickens for distributing to 318 families of military personnel.
Royally-granted Goat Breeding Center “Friends for Friends”: There are total of 134 goats at Somdet Phra Ekathotsarot Camp; 49 male goats and 85 female goats. Currently, the Center has presented 321 goats to Her Royal Highness for distributing to people. On this occasion, Her Royal Highness graciously granted the names of newborn twin Black Bengal female goats as “Kiriya” and “Malayad”.
On this occasion, Her Royal Highness graciously had a conversation with military personnel and gave them morale support and encouragement to continue performing their duties. Thanks to the royal grace of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Thai people are assured to have food stability.
